Besonderheiten: Der Glen Spey 2013/2026 ist ein 12 Jahre alter Single Malt Whisky aus der renommierten Speyside-Region Schottlands, abgefüllt von James Eadie. Nach einer anfänglichen Reifezeit erhielt dieser Whisky eine 31-monatige Veredelung in einem 1st Fill Oloroso Sherry Butt aus europäischer Eiche. Diese besondere Lagerung verleiht dem Whisky komplexe Aromen und eine reiche Geschmackstiefe. Mit einem Alkoholgehalt von 52.5% kommt dieser Whisky als Cask Strength, unfiltriert und ohne zusätzliche Farbstoffe, direkt aus der Brennerei.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nase: In der Nase präsentiert sich der Whisky mit Aromen von getrockneten Früchten, Sultaninen, Orangenschale und Milchschokolade, untermalt von Anklängen von poliertem Eichenholz und Gewürzen.
  • Gaumen: Am Gaumen ist er vollmundig und abgerundet, mit Aromen von Obstkuchen, Toffee, gerösteten Nüssen und süssen Sherrynoten.
  • Abgang: Der Abgang ist lang und wärmend, geprägt von anhaltenden getrockneten Früchten, Kakao und sanften Eichenholz-Tanninen.

Destillerie/Abfüller: James Eadie wurde 1854 von James Eadie in Burton-on-Trent gegründet und ist bekannt für seine Qualität im Bereich Blended Scotch Whisky. Der unabhängige Abfüller wurde 2016 von Rupert Patrick, dem Ur-Ur-Enkel des Gründers, wiederbelebt. James Eadie konzentriert sich auf Single Cask und Small Batch Abfüllungen, die das handwerkliche Können verschiedener schottischer Brennereien widerspiegeln. Der Glen Spey, aus der gleichnamigen Destillerie in Rothes, ist ein Beispiel für die hohen Ansprüche, die James Eadie an seine Produkte stellt.

Love it. Nothing bad. Soft, creamy, absorbs amazingly well, no odor, does wonders for back of hands from frequent hand washing, can fill a crack in skin with the tallow to heal a dryness related wound. Wash hands dry and the warm water and some soaps can strip skin oil and use this tallow to seal and/or replace moisture in your hands! No greasy issues. Truly a lifetime pick and my jar has easily another month usage and had it so far at least two months. Just a dab on back of palms and rub and work up on forearm and elbow. You will not be disappointed using it. I keep near the sink to remind me 🙂
