Loosely aligning with artists like White Fence and Ty Segall, The Mantles thoroughly modernize and personalize the folk-rock tradition. Now on Long Enough to Leave, The Mantles still color outside the lines but dial a cleaner, more infectious sound. SF's Kelley Stoltz recorded the new album with enough savvy to make it pop while keeping the performances idiosyncratic and affecting. Sharp ears may spot bits of early Love, New Zealand's Flying Nun label and LA's Paisley Underground, but The Mantles are very far from revivalists and have more songwriting and arranging skill at their disposal than many bands could hope to have.

interesting OV

FMC PMO

I just felt like two things
1. The character development wasn’t there the character consistency wasn’t there, especially with the FMC.
2. The FMC would literally make the guys feel bad and keep bringing up that they don’t want her there, but then her whole thing has been. I don’t wanna be here so either you wanna be there or not but if you give off vibes that you don’t wanna be there people are not gonna want you there.
